The Caroline is one of the best old-school dives in Seattle--not just North Seattle, but the whole city. Great bartenders, solid food, strong and appropriately priced drinks, and a pool table that, although it often feels more like playing minigolf than billiards, is free and contested by a friendly, open group of regulars. There's also a lovely covered patio out back. And they're dog-friendly. And there's a whole dang parking lot, just for you. Sometimes they'll put up a sign saying "We won't be open until 10am on Thursday, we apologize for the inconvenience." Look, just go check this place out. It's a gem.

There is no regular menu for food is the only downside to this unique long standing Seattle Tavern. Food at special events only and it is good when they have it.
Pool is popular here. There is also a dartboard & a jukebox. Music is always playing along with the click of poolballs. The waitstaff knows how to handle a crowd. They are FAST & accurrate. I was very impressed. The vibe here is calm and cheerful. The crowd is also delightfully diverse.
Oh there is a covered patio out back to enjoy. Day drinking is popular here, especially during rush hour for an escape. Do check it out.

Fun divey bar. We had a few shots here and they were a reasonable price. They had pinball, pool, and a jukebox. This place would be a great one to put the night away.

Such a fun neighborhood bar filled with friendly people, fun atmosphere, and amazing drinks! Went out to celebrate a friend and ended up at Caroline Tavern for drinks. They have great music 🎶 jukebox (AMI), pool, pinball, and even a breathalyzer! If you are looking for a welcoming neighborhood bar - come on in! 💚

One of the neighborhood bars!! My mom used to hang out there and bartended for a while and that was my first time there since 2001. It was really nice, very relaxing. The atmosphere was really nice and everybody was very friendly and the bartender was great. Thank you, Mel and all the people to Caroline that day

I absolutely love the Caroline. Totally unpretentious and cozy. The bartenders are super friendly and they have great prices and it's nice to have food options late at night. I visit this bar usually at least once a week, and love bringing friends/dates here. In a big city it's nice to find a place that feels like home!

Excellent neighborhood bar. Always stiff pours, friendly bar staff, and a nice mix of patrons - men, women, straight, gay, black, white, etc. Not that common for a bar in the north end. Never empty. Have not eaten here yet.
